The Final Countdown

It might just be a strange coincidence or the way our 8yo says goodbye: The whole day – on our last day in the house without the movers – he wanted to hear Europe’s „Final Countdown“.

And honestly: It doesn’t really help my brain spinning already if you hear THE FINAL COUNTDOWN! And again: THE FINAL COUNTDOWN… ALL DAY LONG!

Maybe I’m just overreacting, and it’s not the song, but this I-can’t- believe-this-happens-now-feeling, as our AC on the second floor said goodbye last Sunday. During record breaking triple digits! Three days before we move out!

Well, that helped us forgetting about our car (or no car) problem. It all started last Thursday with a letter – so I guess it’s the postman’s fault, right? Anyway. Our lovely Rosi (beautiful red Toyota Sienna) needs to come in for a recall repair. Makes sense – we thought – to do it before we need to sell it/her in this crazy, remaining week. Long story short: Service Friday, pickup Saturday – on the way home, all control lights were flashing and blinking like a gorgeous Christmas Tree. Rosi back to the garage – and here we are: 4 days (2 with NO car), 6 uber drives, 1 rental car, and 1 replacement car later, we know… Nothing! To be continued….

Anyway: I worked my way through the last closet today, found some long missing kids toys, and many more lost socks (?!)

I had a nice last „freezer“ lunch with my youngest and was filled in with his newest marble race plans (and THE FINALLY COUNTDOWN…)

So, the really unnecessary part today was the arrival of Ms Buyer Realtor and her five (5!) men crew discussing and trying to measure in the middle of my kitchen, living room, closet, and bathroom. Hello? Today? We try to pack up here!! And I’m so sorry, but I DON’T CARE! TWO MORE DAYS! PLEASE!

Sorry…
